Clinical Immunologyの特集号” Celebrating the contributions of Dr. George Tsokos”に寄稿した総説です。免疫細胞の活性化や増殖には様々な蛋白質が分解されることが重要ですが、蛋白分解酵素であるA Disintegrin and Metalloproteinase (ADAM)が、種々の蛋白質を分解・切断することによりT細胞機能やSLEの病態形成に与える影響をまとめました。
